He looks like somebody who could have attended Westfield.
28 years almost to the day of the Mcdonalds massacre in San Diego.
Since the gunman is from San Diego I think he definitely knows about what happened at Mcdonalds along with the date of when it happened.
The Mcdonalds shooter 28 years ago was named JAMES too.

At least 14 people were killed and 50 were wounded when a gunman opened fire during an early Friday morning screening of the new Batman movie at an Aurora, Colorado, theater, Police Chief Dan Oates told reporters.
The heavily armed suspect, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, was apprehended by police in a parking lot at the theater, Frank Fania, a police spokesman told CNN. The identity of the suspect has not immediately been released.
He said there was confusion in the theater when the shooting began because many believed the sound of gunfire was coming from the movie next door.
Oates said that the suspect used some sort of "smoke device" before opening fire in the theater.
Witnesses, however, told KUSA that the gunman kicked in an emergency exit door and threw a smoke bomb into the darkened theater before opening fire.

Not to minimize the tragedy of what has happened, but he could have easily used explosives in the theater. We as a nation are fortunate that our psychos limit themselves to shootings; we can get on buses or trains or go shopping without worrying about being blown to bits.
Or look at China, where there were several mass attacks on schoolchildren with nothing more than knives.

Dude, this was chaos! Its a dark theater with tear gas, an asshole is spraying the audience with gunfire. There are screaming people running for the exits. Its hard enough to see the person sitting next to you in a theater in normal circumstances.
I agree taking a 4-month-old kid to a midnight movie is an asshole move, but I've seen assholes of every ethnic group do this. People drag their infants to every movie at all hours of the day for some reason, which is why I don't usually go to the theater.

The kid was apparently a brilliant student before going off the deep end like this. The parents seem to have money and gladly supported him while he was about to pursue his doctorate degree.
He probably had a living allowance for food and other stuff from his parents and decided to use his money to buy all this stuff. A few thousand dollars over a few months wouldn't be too hard to spend.
