reading this makes me sad for misery now that he's involved with monique. he tried to kill himself and had to be hospitalized? that's awful especially since whenever mo is done with somebody she tells them to kill themselves. this guy might actually do it :(

When a plaintiff in any kind of civil action is awarded an ungodly amount of money (say, $1,000,000), they NEVER actually get that amount. It's just a dollar figure a sympathetic jury gives out. The actual amount awarded gets reduced significantly. Very, very significantly. Unfairly significantly, in fact. That doesn't get reported in the media.
The ungodly dollar figure thrown out by the jury does. Caps on damages, tort reform, mandatory arbitration, all these things are devices that sound like they're protecting you, the hard working American, from frivolous and unnecessary litigation. They aren't. They're protecting big business. Banks. Credit card companies. Etc.
No one actually gets anything close to the requested or awarded dollar figure in any civil action.
This case will be no different.
