Poor johnny rebs were dupped

Rich Southern Arisotratic plantation owners waged a war because they wanted to keep slaves. Secondarily, they didn't like high taxes. But let's face it, they wanted their slaves.

and they sent these poor country boys to fight telling them it was for "states rights". The people descended from these rich people today are not the ones flying the confederate flag. Its the regular folk who were lied to and made to fight the war. In a way its a sad story. They honestly didn't own any slaves, or very few and they were told to fight for their homes.

The Army of Northern Virginia was just simple farm boys fighting for rich men.

When the rich people sat back and watched them die on the fields.

Well yes and no. The entire was not over slavery, but slavery was a main issue . Most people don't realize the Battle Flag is the Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia. The original flag looked more like the American Flag

Does your momma know you're on the internet talking with grownups?

If the war was mostly because of slavery, why didn't the District of Columbia outlaw slavery BEFORE the war started?
