This is a call about student loans. Haven't had one in ages. Didn't stop them.

Scammers of some stripe, using a VOIP number. Telemarketing used blocked or spoofed numbers should be punishable by life in Leavenworth, the calls are THAT annoying and only a moron would go for any of these things.

tampering with telephones normal function is a Federal offense

ie, your a conman and tap a line (possibly using a digital filter, but by any means) and use the tap to talk lies

it comes with jailtime if they are caught - if

not because its worse than armed bank robbery but because the telephone company does not need to fuck around chasing jokers who are breaking the telephone systems, and because anyone doing that is sure also to tap into military and financial secrets

if i found some fucking foreigner at a telephone company using viruses to tamper with the telephones - my first reaction would be to shoot him
