stealing? not really. words are meant for everyone to use.

does it bother me when random people call me their brother? yes, a little. mostly the americanized mexicans call me brother. for the record, im painfully white.

People probably used "brother" more back in the 60s than they do nowadays. "Dude" and "bro" seem more common.

Of course "Bro" means brother anyhow, and yeah, I've heard plenty of black folks use "Bro" too, so this BS about stealing words is dumb. Sure, some cultural groups in America use certain words more so than others, but I've never seen anything wrong with something so mundane as "Brother".

I call everyone brother just as a communication letting everyone know I see them as I see myself.I cast no judgement because like you I have struggles and bad days. It's a contagious word. If you say it in a work place on a regular bases. It spreads and others start using it. So being called "Brother" you should feel good because you're around someone that cares about your well being as much as their own.

I call all my bro's 'brah'. And my friends, I call them 'bro'. or Broseph.

I started calling everybody nigger. It's really catching on. Everybody should do it.
