Only 24% of enrollees in Obamacare are under the age of 30. This is the group that is needed to account of 40% of enrollments in order to insure that the system can pay for itself. Most of those that have enrolled (78%) will receive subsidies from the government. The Obama administration is now preparing a package to be sent to Congress to bail out the insurance companies to the tune of several billion dollars for the next two years.

Who could have seen that coming. Another failed government program ~ and in only 4 months from it's roll out.

Nothing another $ trillion can't fix.

I'm not sure how much the feds will hand over to the insurance companies in this case. I heard that because of the low number of young enrollments, the insurance companies will be able to jack their rates up to be able to pay for the older people on the plans that will be drawing more funds from the insurance for their medical coverage.

I guess this wasn't one of those angles that the people who pushed this legislation through didn't fully consider. With their dream of having everyone covered with medical insurance in the United States, they were so blind to all of the realities of this whole debacle.

0bamaCare Fail Part 11

WH delays another ObamaCare deadline---The Obama administration announced Tuesday that it was again extending the ObamaCare enrollment deadline for people with pre-existing conditions.

The administration said it will extend the Pre-Existing Conditions Insurance Plan (PCIP), slated to end January 31, until March 15.

“As part of our continuing effort to help smooth consumers’ transition into Marketplace coverage, we are allowing those covered by PCIP additional time to shop for new coverage while they receive the ongoing care and treatment they need,” Health and Human Services spokeswoman Joanne Peters said in a statement.

The deadline was originally at the end of December, but last month the administration pushed it back through January because of the problem-plagued HealthCare.gov website.

Which would just drive more people off the insurance from the unaffordable price and youd have to give bigger subsidies. Either way the government will be paying massive amounts more.

Just wait till all the other costs they tried to hide come out.

It appears the only way Obama can get money out of any demographic is to mandate it with a tax increase or 6.

I think that's what D67Wb was saying, though the part about Medicare is not entirely correct. But the government's been filling the Social Security coffers with IOUs for years...with both parties to blame, too. No one gets a pass on that one. And you'll recall the freak-out in 2011 when the first big debt ceiling showdown with Dems claiming that Social Security checks wouldn't go out if we didn't keep the gov open, meaning they need tax revenue to pay Social Security payments, which is not technically how it's supposed to be funded but is now because they raided the piggy bank.

And as more seniors retire and fewer millenials have kids it's just going to get worse.
