Le’Veon Bell became the first player in Pittsburgh's history to top 100 yards of total offense in each of the team’s first seven games.

Ben Roethlisberger threw touchdown passes to Martavis Bryant and Le’Veon Bell on each side of a scoring toss from wide receiver Antonio Brown to Lance Moore on a gadget play, helping the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 30-23 victory over the visiting Houston Texans on Monday night.

Pittsburgh (4-3) spotted Houston a 13-0 lead only to score 24 points in a frantic final 3 minutes 8 seconds of the first half. Of the 24 points, 21 came in a 73-second span.

Roethlisberger hit Bryant — a 6-foot-4 rookie playing in his first N.F.L. game — for a 35-yard score to make it 13-10 with 1:27 left. Then the Texans began to self-destruct.

Arian Foster fumbled deep in Houston territory two plays after Bryant’s score, and the Steelers recovered. The Steelers’ offensive coordinator, Todd Haley, who has faced heavy criticism for his play-calling, went deep into his options to help Pittsburgh take the lead.

On first-and-goal, Roethlisberger flipped the ball to Brown, who was coming in motion. Brown then spun back around to his left and fired a strike to Moore in the end zone.

Houston’s problems escalated on the next snap when Ryan Fitzpatrick’s throw over the middle was deflected into the arms of the 36-year-old defensive end Brett Keisel, who took the second interception of his career to the Houston 8.

Roethlisberger found Brown for a 6-yard gain and then hit Bell — who was uncovered after going in motion — for a touchdown and a 24-13 lead with 14 seconds remaining in the half.

Bell finished the half with 110 total yards, 91 receiving and 19 rushing. He is the first player in Pittsburgh history to top 100 yards of total offense in each of the team’s first seven games.

The turnaround left the Heinz Field crowd ecstatic and the Texans and their star defensive end J. J. Watt stunned.

Houston (3-4) dominated the first 25 minutes. Fitzpatrick found the rookie running back Alfred Blue for an 11-yard touchdown pass to end a 10-play, 94-yard drive on the Texans’ opening possession. Then Watt went to work. He recovered a Roethlisberger fumble, leading to a 39-yard field goal by Randy Bullock that gave Houston a 10-0 lead. Watt later dropped Roethlisberger for his third sack of the year.

The rookie linebacker Jadeveon Clowney, whom Houston chose as the top pick in the draft, was inactive for his sixth straight game after being injured in the season opener.

SURGERY FOR BILLS’ SPILLER Buffalo Bills running back C. J. Spiller is out indefinitely — and could miss the rest of the season — after having surgery for a collarbone injury. And the co-starter Fred Jackson revealed that he could miss four weeks with a groin injury. The two backs were hurt in the first half of a 17-16 win over Minnesota.

ORAKPO OUT FOR SEASON Washington Coach Jay Gruden said linebacker Brian Orakpo would need surgery and was done for the season because of a torn right pectoral muscle.

Gruden also said that unless Robert Griffin III was 100 percent ready to return from injury, Colt McCoy would start at quarterback against the Dallas Cowboys next week. Griffin dislocated his left ankle in Week 2.

NO SWITCH FOR BROWNS Brian Hoyer played poorly in the Cleveland Browns’ loss to the Jaguars in Jacksonville, but not bad enough to lose his starting job. Browns Coach Mike Pettine said he had no immediate plans to bench Hoyer for the heralded rookie Johnny Manziel as Cleveland’s No. 1 quarterback.

Hoyer completed just 16 of 41 passes for 215 yards and threw a late interception as the Browns fell, 24-6.

San Francisco center Daniel Kilgore was scheduled to undergo season-ending surgery Tuesday after fracturing his left ankle in the 49ers’ loss to the Broncos. ... Atlanta center Peter Konz sustained a season-ending left knee injury in the Falcons’ 29-7 loss to the Ravens in Baltimore.

Neither team is going anywhere. No one cares.
