18 was the early to mid 80s, and for beer and wine only. Some places like New York and DC were 18 for beer and wine in the 60s and 70s. 60s and 70s were generally 21. Even the voting age was 21 until 1972(? maybe, I'm just too lazy to look it up). And we drank a bunch. Didn't stop us then, won't stop them now.
College was always a drink fest. Now its a drink fest with higher legal ages, liberal faggots, overweight women, and date rapists and HPV running rampant. Sucks to be young nowadays.

It's funny, you would have NO problem if the kids were being taught by Conservatives, but heaven forbid they get exposed to other ideologies.

Ah. Not where I grew up...hint: it's 19 there now, all flavors...
I taught at a local university for a short period of time and was astounded how compliant the kids were. I would ask if they thought it was fair they could go drive a tank for the army but could not drink for another few years. Blank stares.
When they told me about campus security busts of parties for 'too many people in dorm room' I would ask them 'so after they left did you see exactly how many people you could actually fit in a room if you tried hard?' Blank stares.
No rebellion no backbone against authority. I guess it could be that they really do lock you up and throw away the key these days. Not so in the 70s. If you were caught with a bag of weed they would empty it out on the ground and tell you to go home. Now thats a couple years in prison.
Oh and the drinking age was 18 - everyone got fucked up. I hope some of these kids raise some hell, I really do.
