Indonesia doesn't have laws against financing terrorism so they have lots of various public fundraisers for groups in Syria and elsewhere. True story.

They really hit the ground running with merchandising, youtube videos, twitter accounts, recruitment videos, etc. Nice job CIA. It couldn't look more obvious that this isn't a real grassroots rebel force.

All made to be ready for their compliant media outlets at NBC, ABC, CBS, CNN, NYT, WaPo when the operation commenced. The Kurds knew this offensive was in the works for 18 months. The Iraqi government appearently knew about it beforehand.

I'm sure that we did too. Hard not to be when various moves have been reported for many months. The media here just weren't paying attention until they started the larger offensive recently.
