“We were flat out wrong."

That’s the message Cracker Barrel is sending to enraged customers after the restaurant chain removed Duck Dynasty items from its stores over fears it might offend people.

“Our intent was to avoid offending but that’s just what we’ve done,” Cracker Barrel said in a statement posted on its Facebook page. “You told us we made a mistake. And, you weren’t shy about it. You wrote, you called and you took to social media to express your thoughts and feelings.”

They didn't anticipate the backlash. Their first reaction was to jump on the PC
bandwagon and think it would make folks think in "warm and fuzzy" mode but it was just the opposite. Looks to me like people are fed up with having "gay" shoved up their asses.

A&E has already said they have no intention of losing this show and are working with the family to develop a path forward. "Duck Dynasty" patriarch Phil Robertson will be back on the A&E show when filming cranks up again following the holidays, according to sources quoted by Entertainment Weekly.

"Everybody will take a break for the holidays and regroup afterward. That’s probably the smartest thing for everyone to do. Time heals a lot of wounds,” EW's source said.

A&E announced the suspension last week after comments he made to GQ magazine stirred controversy.

“Don’t be deceived," he said, paraphrasing 1 Corinthians 9:6. "Neither the adulterers, the idolaters, the male prostitutes, the homosexual offenders, the greedy, the drunkards, the slanderers, the swindlers—they won’t inherit the kingdom of God."

A GLAAD statement said "Phil's lies about an entire community fly in the face of what true Christians believe," and A&E swiftly announced the suspension, saying, "His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community."

Then came an enormous backlash, as fans took to social media in support of the family patriarch. The strong surge of "Duck Dynasty" supporters caused Cracker Barrel to rethink pulling some "Duck Dynasty" merchandise from its shelves.

The family issued a statement last week hinting they'd part ways with A&E if Phil wasn't part of it. Over the weekend, family member Jep Robertson made an Atlanta appearance. He didn't say much about the controversy (or anything else) but didthank fans for their support.

Uh dude, you do realize that duck commander was big BEFORE Duck Dynasty. DD wasn't even their first TV show. They had a show on the Outdoor channel before that focused on hunting. Phil Robertson was a millionaire before the show ever aired. Will did take it to this crazy level, but Phil was doing fine before the show.

Jackson and his civil rights group Rainbow PUSH Coalition have demanded a meeting with the A&E network, which broadcasts the hugely popular “Duck Dynasty,” and restaurant Cracker Barrel, which carries “Duck Dynasty” merchandise.
