Seeking Creative Solutions To Deal With Neighbor's Park Job
Posted by: Nowhere To Park ()
Date: December 21, 2013 10:41AM

So my neighbor decided they could park in front of my house. It's not like it's off to the side which I wouldn't mind, their car is directly in front of my house: my spot. My garage already has 2 cars in it, and my car is the only one I park on the street. They have three on the street including the one in front of my house. What are some good ways to get at them until they understand where to park?

You should be in jail,pedophile.

Children should all be raised in concentration style camps until age 21. Just think of all the juvi crime that would be prevented. And with the proper training in such camps, they would be unlikely to become criminals when they leave and might show some respect for their communities and their elders.

Never said I did. Simply looking for ways to "remind" them of common courtesy.

Have you tried this novel approach....ask them nicely in person?

The simple solution would be to place a nail under one or more of their tires. That would teach them to be more neighborly. They should be using their garage and/or driveway for one car, then the other two can fit in front of their house without being a dick neighbor.

I'm all for the simple solution of using a baseball bat to seek the resolution. To consider anything else is just a waste of time. With other diplomatic methods, you'll shake hands and agree that the discussion was a good one. Yet, as soon as your neighbor walks away from you, he'll say "asshole" under his breath and the same-old, same-old issues will still exist.

A moron will always be a moron. You can't change them.

Yes, it is infuriating to deal with clueless neighbors. In my experience, the best approach is to talk to them in a non-confrontational manner ('You may not realize this, but I really need the space in front of my house to park' - or something like that). If they have any sense of decency, they will get the hint - although you may have to repeat this several times when they 'slip'. If they don't, then you need to escalate matters. Whatever you do, don't approach them in anger. This sort of person will just use your reaction as confirmation of the fact that you are an asshole and their behavior will, if anything, get worse.

some time when they're not parked there, move one of your cars from your two car garage into the space in front of your house, then park in the (now available) space in your two car garage.

This. Its sort of like having a friend hold your place in line. I would use this method if I liked the neighbor. If I hate them, I would wedge a nice sturdy drywall screw under their tire so it pops it when they pull out.

the thread recently about the 10 foot law in FFX County? Go out there and measure 10 feet from your driveway and put a line on the curb. Every time they park go out and see if they're beyond the mark. When they are call the cops, and by law, they should ticket the jackwagon. Then that other guy on these boards can post another thread about how the cops are wasting the taxpayers money on trivial BS.

You don't own the street. Unfortunately the only thing you can do is get there first.

I have a similar situation where the shitheads across the screen have something like 7 vehicles for four adults (and they're not spics, go figure), and they park to of their piece of shit cars in front of my house.

I don't care, but I don't make special workarounds when mowing, edging, raking leaves or shoveling snow (at least 2 years ago). If their cars get shit on them because I'm doing yard work, tough shit. But I don't stay up a night worrying about them parking there.

I would do what Jesus would do and that's light that stupid car on fire and send it straight to hell. They should park in front of their own house or use their goddamn driveway/garage.
