After delivering remarks on Ukraine, and warning Russia, President Obama headed over to DNC where it's "officially happy hour with the Democratic party."
The pool reporter adds:
"Motorcade journey to the DNC meeting was notable only for a group of about 10 protesters we passed shouting "Stop Keystone" and holding anti-pipeline banners. Inside, Debbie Wasserman Schultz reconvened the meeting at 5.30pm. The president came onto the stage to speak at 5.36pm.

As for why Ukraine matters, its Putin putting the USSR back together. Ukraine is a hot spot of farm land that Russia and the EU both want.

Sarah Palin is a fuckin genius. Who would of thought Russia would have interests in Ukraine? I mean the KGB did poison their president Viktor Yushchenko but to assess that Russia had the potential to intervene in the Ukraine to secure their interests as they did in Georgia is breathtaking.

Putin only wants Crimea for his warm sea military port. Going to war with Ukraine and eventually occupying Ukraine is not what Russia wants. They are going to just try to annex Crimea through an extended stand off.
