i've experienced it and talked with many who have.
the fact is if your poisoned with the wrong thing, something really wicked like maybe german phizer phych drugs that mistakenly form crystals (knows to cause death in they said %30 cases, thought they lie), you migth be better off dead than experience the suffering. you might 5 years later think: well i would have been better dead still. it's that much to live through. it's worse than torture because they are till, suffering, and it goes on for a very long time with no end in sight. the suffering is terrible you'd want to die if it happened to you. you might even feel cheated because you are too sick to do it.
bad news it's it may be due to thigns others are doing to them, even allergy, or a wrongly diagnosed organ the doctors are avoiding to save
medical costs on, which if corrected they'd recover.

i've also been ill enough close to death to say
you wouldn't care at that point. if your organs are failing you'll naturally accept it.
after all. walking around with a stomach with a hole would just be gross right? may as well not. and your body just works that way.
you can experience near death if for some reason your not really sick: you are sick due to something someone else did TO you
