Boxing Day in Australia

Which is similar in a way to Black Friday here. Except when they showed the lines on tv the people were all orderly and waiting in line. No one was robbed of a big screen tv in the parking lot and no one was trampled to death by savage mobs. I wondered what is the difference between there and here.
