Al Sharpton has become quite the influential figure. He is very straight forward and is unafraid to confront the right.

My favorite part of his program is when he goes, "Nice try, but we got ya." Just love it.

I think he's a bit one-sided. He speaks out on within hours on issues that negatively affect blacks, but is silent when the roles are reversed. That's not quite hypocritical, but it isn't honest, either.

I also don't like how light-skinned he is. It's confusing. Hell, you throw a sombrero on Al and give him a couple of maracas and he could play La Cucaracha. I like black people to be real black, the blacker the better.

Plain and simple. Al Sharpton is a dickwad. I've heard that he still owes $8 million to one of his non-profit (money laundering) companies from the loan he gave himself from his past presidential run.

My problem with him, like my problem with those on the extreme right as well is that people like Sharpton operate in a sea of hypocrisy. They present only one side of the argument, rarely research their point or the counterpoint properly, then stoke the fires with stupid rhetoric. For Sharpton there are so many examples...just look at the Tawana Brawley case.

I actually disagree with your assertion that he has become an influential figure. Hes become the boy who cried wolf. His simple involvement dilutes credibility from the cause he's representing. The good news is that people like this have become a caricature of themselves. They aren't taken seriously anyway and rarely get any worthy news (TV or Print) coverage. Whenever they hear "Al Sharpton said" or "Rush Limbaugh states", we all just roll our eyes and know that we're getting 1/2 of the story.
