When you control the money and the message, as Obama does, you can make welfare look like it makes a profit. There are hundreds of articles out there on how costs are skyrocketing (going from $300 a month to $1000 a month for Humana family plans as an example).

No one trusts this administration anymore. They've been caught in too many lies. Only the true believers (aka brown shirt types) have faith in government anymore. The media will continue to prop Obama and his policies up until he leaves office. Sadly, millions still fall for their lies and coverups.

Actually, control is shared. Congress appropriates, the executive branch spends. Rarely, as in the case of the F-35, Congress appropriates to the program level. In about 95% of the cases, Congress appropriates to the Agency level allowing complete control of spending those trillions up to the White House and political appointees.

In the case of the ACA, the costing model was set up to offset increases at the beginning by collecting taxes to fund it 3 years prior to implementation and then subsidizing the exchange set up and premium costs with billions of dollars in federal dollars, which will last 3 years. At that point, the states are on their own to fund the exchanges. Federal exchanges are fully funded and run by the federal government, which is what Virginia is going to get (along with more than half the other states).

As always, individual results may vary.

I, too, read the story about the Kentucky yokels whose monthly Humana premium
nearly tripled. As I recall, this family buys their coverage independently, straight from the marketplace. They'll do much better through their Obamacare Exchange when it opens next month.

For every storiy like the one above, there are five about how the benefits of Obamacare (pre-existing conditions, childern cover to 26, etc.) have helped/saved people.

Not everyone wins evey time.

Looks like, unless you have the two situations that you cite, obamacare's going screw you in the butt:

Not really. How many consumers qualify for the 'Current Lowest-Cost Premium'?

Many, many more consumer will qualify for the 'Lowest-Cost Bronze Plan available on exchange'. Likely, a greater number of consumer will benefit from the exchanges rather than be hurt by them.

Most of the younger ones who will be paying more.

You realize that with the Bronze plans you have significant deductibles and expenses beyond the insurance cost right?

The people who will benefit will be those receiving subsidies whether directly or indirectly in terms of younger participants paying more for older through the multiples established in the law. Everyone else will pay relatively more in order to fund all of that.

storily? childern? You wouldn't be from Kentucky would you?

Anyway.........what you are saying here is that when one out of six people in this country don't have health insurance, we spend a wad of cash, switch everything around and piss off the majority of the country so one out of six people get fucked on the price of health insurance they had purchased themselves?

How is that progressive?
