A politically incorrect, but fearless commentator stated with regard to Jeantel that "This is what a 70 IQ looks like, and one-sixth of the black population falls within this category." Listening to her interview, I painfully agree with this commentator.
Making this observation does not make one a racist. Indeed, in presenting this functionally illiterate woman as "smart", CNN's condescension is delusional to the point where it is is harmful. We have a knowledge based economy. There is sadly very little room in this economy for someone with her skills (including life skills and lack of social context). CNN trots her out like a novelty act at a circus, but the reality is sad, and not likely salvageable. Confronting the black underclass is uncomfortable (note if one discounts our black population, the US has a violent crime rate like Sweden's), but there is a need for honest discussion over the problems that exist in incredibly disproportionate numbers. Jeantel is as good a place to start as any, but one cannot be deluded as to her unfortunate limitations which are shared by all too many in the underclass.

I can't accept that at face value. Who is the "fearless commentator" in question? How does he know that she has a 70 IQ? How does he know that one-sixth of the black population falls below that? I doubt this woman and most people in her sociopath-economic status have ever even had their IQs tested.
There is clearly a problem in the black underclass, but I don't think that IQ is the primary issue. It doesn't help to make inflammatory statements that may or may not be true.
