Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Simple exciting game. Not too time consuming. Very basic but still fun.
Very nice graphics. Very realistic. Takes way too damn long to complete the entire game. After you beat the game there is no way you want to do that shit all over again. No replay value. Video games should be a simple escape from reality and not a prolonged escape from reality that goes on for months and months.

Here is my main problem with the new playstation 4 and xbox one vidoe game systems.
Video games used to be very simple.
Just turn on your atari or nintendo and play.
Insert your 25 cents and your good to go for however long you can survive playing the game.
But now they games have gotten so advanced and realistic to the point where the games just take too damn long and it has become too time consuming and boring.
I can only play these games for 5-10 minutes tops.
Then I am ready to turn the damn thing off.
I do not have the time to play for hours upon hours to unlock achievement after achievement in order to advance further into the game.
Fuck all that bullshit.

That's why about the only games that I still enjoy are more simple arcade style.
Can't devote that much to a game.

These new games are designed for the fat lazy nerdy kids with diabetes at age 15 who never leave their house. Then one day they pick up a gun and wipe out a school!

I played my fair share of Donkey Kong and Mario Brothers but I also played baseball and soccer at school. I would drink and smoke socially with the rest of my high school aged friends on the weekends. We would race against each other on the HOV lanes. I tried (though not always successful) to have sex with as many females as I could.

I completely agree, OP. The sweet spot for me was the Sega Genesis. Everything since then is just way too fucking involved and absorbing. And really...$400 for a fucking video game console? Suck a dick, Microsoft and Sony.

We're all dating ourselves here in this thread talking about Sega Genesis, Mario and Donkey Kong but yes, I agree those are also my first console game memories. Galaxian was the shit!
My sweet-spot was Super Nintendo-Play Station 1.
Gotta say though, Steam is the way to go now. For those that like PC games it's just incredible. Forget about ever having to go to a store again to buy a hard-disk game. Buy, download and install right off of Steam. They automatically update and patch all your games and you're piped right into a multi-player community if that's your thing.
No interest whatsoever in a console system ever again. Not even close.

Consoles are getting so expensive that you can now find a comparably more powerful PC and actually get useful shit done with it as well dick around with games. Also, I refuse to play a game where I have to jump around like some Kansas City faggot with a motion camera like Kinect. If I want go break a sweat, I'll go to the gym. The funny thing is watching these neckbeards lose their shit over this gimped, overpriced hardware.
