Nearly 40 House Democrats defied President Obama and helped the Republican majority pass a bill Friday that lets Americans keep, for one year, health plans that do not comply with Obamacare.

The defections from 39 members of Mr. Obama’s party highlighted the pressure on Congress to help people who lost coverage because of the president’s signature law, as balky websites keep a veil over alternative plans and pressure mounts on the Democrat-led Senate to forge a remedy.

“Let’s face it, millions of people right now have a cancelled policy,” Rep. Ron Barber, Arizona Democrat, said before voting for the Keep Your Health Plan Act.

The House passed the bill, 261 to 157, despite a veto threat from Mr. Obama and objections from Democrats who said the legislation was an insidious attempt to rot the Affordable Care Act from the inside out.

Here's the secret. Things have changed since Bush. You Republicans have degraded the norms of decency surrounding high level government officials such as the presidency along with the standards of the media.

Let me simplify it for you. If you think another Republican can come into office and commit war crimes and plunder the treasury, you are sourly mistaken. If, and this is a very slim if, because the American people have shown an outright propensity to reject Republicanism. But if, a Republican ever were to enter high office he would have no agenda. He would have no agenda because the Republican Party represents corporate interests and has nothing to offer the people.

He would be greatly criticized and bashed in the media. Democrats would be looking to seek revenge for all the Republican obstruction and unnecessary aggression during the Obama Administration. Under the same circumstances that Obama presides over this country, a corrupt Republican administration simply wouldn't be able to function.

It would survive one term, if it survived impeachment. There would be no regard or respect for the office of the Presidency. This is the country you've transformed us in to.

If you were to take the Senate, you'll lose it right away and we'll still have a Democratic presidency with veto power and an upcoming presidential election in which there will be massive turn out.

I don't get scared of Republicans. They are inept, incapable and destined for defeat. I do worry for my country because the damage they can do and have proven to be able to do with the reigns of power. Republicans don't stand a chance going forward in any respect.

I never knew the purpose of a presidential election was to whoop ass? I thought it was to elect a leader of this once great country. In that respect we have failed because Obozo is no leader. A president is someone elected by the American people with their single votes per person.
