Really? I learned something today. We had a spirited discussion in a war once if the terms were interchangeable. We concluded that if the deceased was shot once he might be dead and twice he would be deceased. So we shot everyone at least twice to make sure they were killed.

The US did a handful of nuclear tests in the pacific proving grounds right after WWII but immediately stopped after realizing the environmental implications of irradiating ocean water. All other tests since have been done in the midwest mostly. Most tests are small scale tests and not full-blown missiles as would be used in an attack.

With the strength and amount of depleted uranium in our highly evolved nuclear weapons today, it would be asinine to predict you wouldn't irradiate a body of water by nuking it. I can't believe I have to explain this to you...
