Clearly you had no idea who you were voting for if you dont think Terry is all about Terry and occasionally the Clintons.

Here we go, they purged 55 thousand voters 2 weeks before the election. 778 vote margin. The Democrats will sue and there are probably many ballots that haven't been counted against the purge rolls.

Cuccinelli has a conflict of interest being a part of the election. This could get messy. Odds are though that Herring has uncounted voted.

Yes - 550-ish votes. There should be a recount however the current loser would need to get all 550 votes since it is unlikely a valid ballot would FLIP who got the vote. Maybe there's a box of ballots somewhere that hasn't been counted yet...

Did you seriously think for a moment that the Democrats had a meaningful shot at picking up more than a couple of seats in the House? The ability of Democrats to win down state has been dropping for years. Wins have often reflected local issues or the specific person running, and the Democrats have been less and less successful in recruiting local talent that might have a reasonable shot at winning in downstate districts.

Part of the problem has been the increasing focus of Virginia Democrats on urban and suburban interests at the expense of more rural areas. The typical Democratic candidate who would win in an urban or suburban district would have a harder time in the exburbs and would be a fish out of water in a rural district. The Democrats best shot would be a libertarian oriented candidate, but that is as much an anathema to Democratic leaders as a socially liberal candidate is to Republicans.

A second problem has been the Democratic emphasis on winning the big races. It's great to have Dem govs and US Senators today, but when you get wins at the expense of state delegates or senators it hurts in the long run. Byrd knew the secret to Virginia was courthouse to statehouse. Republicans have learned the same thing.

The third problem is of course that the Republicans engaged in serious district gerrymandering after the 2010 census. So what. The Democrats did the same thing when they were in power, and we all knew the 2010 census would offer a new opportunity to engage in redistricting for partisan advantage.

Doubtful Vexxxed. I come from a family of committed conservative Republicans. What's even more funny is that until the 1990s most liberals accused me of being a DINO.

Bill is a center leftist who has long periods of clarity. He buys into a lot of the leftie scams (global warming, democrats are the party of the middle class, etc) but is not so far gone as to not make lucid arguments most of the time. Not an emotional windbag like gerry/ferfux and not a self-hating faggot like MHK/FBG/hammerhead10, Bill tries to stick to facts. He's just a bit choosy on which facts he'll stick to. All in all, a decent, if not misguided fellow from what I've read.
