Survey: Obama Leading Romney 49% to 43%

Ah, it's good to be back.

"The survey shows the Democratic incumbent leading his Republican rival by 49 percent to 43 percent, a slightly larger lead than he enjoyed a month earlier."

Inside the margin of error. Not good for an incumbent. He needs to step up his game.

When were you released? Did it take a judges order to get you out or had you signed yourself in?

"But unease over the state of the economy has kept Obama's share of the vote and his overall job approval (49 percent) below the 50 percent mark. Six in 10 Americans continue to see the nation as "off on the wrong track," 53 percent disapprove of Obama's handling of the economy, and 55 percent say they've grown less optimistic about economic conditions lately. "

Great "survey".......you should probably start reading the whole articles before you post them and stop falling for NBC's tabloid headlines.

Yes it was a great survey.

"Fully 67 percent of voters say they like Obama personally, whether or not they approve of his policies. Just 47 percent say the same of Romney. That leaves him vulnerable to the questions Democrats have raised about his refusal to release more than two years of past tax returns."

The poll is a joke and doesn't square with the other polls that have an historical track record of being much more accurate.

For instance you'll find in the polls details, http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/A_Politics/_Today_Stories_Teases/12768_July_Poll.pdf

that it was weighted 11 points in favor of Democrats. That's why it doesn't jive with 3 other polls released today that show Romney leading by as many as 3 points.

General Election: Romney vs. Obama Gallup Tracking Obama 45, Romney 46 Romney +1
General Election: Romney vs. Obama Rasmussen Tracking Obama 44, Romney 47 Romney +3
Michigan: Romney vs. Obama Mitchell Research Obama 44, Romney 45 Romney +1

That is as much as a 9 point discrepancy between polls. that is well outside the margin of error. Which means that someone is being dishonest in polling. And that someone is NBC and WSJ.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/latest_polls/

Not sure why The WJS chooses to associate with a clearly partisan network like NBC but those in the know find their resulting poll numbers laughably embarrassing.

The poll is designed to suppress Republican enthusiasm but will have the exact opposite result.

No, you are saying you have to resort to non-sequiturs when you can't come up with a cogent counter-argument.

That hurt. Who needs a president you don't like? Oh wait...I want a president that will help move us back from the cliff. Not one that thinks it's just a sand trap.

You ignorant fuck. Romney doesn't answer to you or the Democrats.

The convention doesn't take place until the 27th of August. He's already kicking Obamas ass in anything that really counts and he's not even officially running for president yet.

Maybe you'll get lucky and Obama will have a beer summit for you. Cause he's so likable.

Too bad he's not re-electable.

"From around this time in 2004. Keep talking out
your ass...".....WTL 7/25/2012

No one on this board so blatantly talks straight out of their ass more often than you WTL.

Noticed you conveniently left out Rasmussen so I'll help you out.

2004
In the 2004 presidential election, "Rasmussen...beat most of their human competitors in the battleground states, often by large margins," according to Slate magazine.[37] Rasmussen projected the 2004 presidential results within one percentage point of the actual vote totals earned by both George W. Bush and John Kerry.[38]
In 2004, Slate said they “publicly doubted and privately derided Rasmussen” polls because of the methodology. However, after the election, they concluded that Rasmussen’s polls were the most accurate.[37]
[edit]2008
According to Politico, "Rasmussen’s final poll of the 2008 general election — showing Obama defeating Arizona Sen. John McCain 52 percent to 46 percent — closely mirrored the election’s outcome."[39] In reference to the 2008 presidential election, a Talking Points Memo article said, "Rasmussen's final polls had Obama ahead 52%-46%, which was nearly identical to Obama's final margin of 53%-46%, and made him one of the most accurate pollsters out there."[40]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rasmussen_Reports

And this just out Democratic Voting Enthusiasm Down Sharply From 2004, 2008

Trend: Compared to previous elections, are you more enthusiastic than usual about voting, or less enthusiastic?

http://www.gallup.com/poll/156194/Democratic-Voting-Enthusiasm-Down-Sharply-2004-2008.aspx?utm_source=alert&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=syndication&utm_content=morelink&utm_term=All%20Gallup%20Headlines%20-%20Politics

Why then would NBC weight 11 points toward Democrat enthusiasm?

As usual they are trying to create news rather than report honest data.

Thanks for pointing out that Dems at a 17-point lead in enthusiasm in 2004 when Bush was re-elected. Republicans only have a 12-point lead, now, so Obama's re-election should be a cakewalk, right?

This morning, on MSNBC's Morning Joe, NBC political director Chuck Todd admitted their poll had a skewed sample (around 3:50 mark) and stated that, if this poll were weighted similarly to their last poll, the race would have been unchanged, instead of Obama extending his lead over Romney to 6 points. (Of course, this invites the question as to why they didn't use the same weighting in this sample.)
http://video.msnbc.msn.com/morning-joe/48315169#48315169

"Our sample was a little Democratic heavy" Chuck Todd

Fuck Chuck. A little democratic heavy? 11 fucking points is a little?

And the dumbfuck says democratic instead of Democrat.

Keep on talking out your ass WTL.

His info is probably in his web cookies. He may have flipped in and out of his browser and somehow the registered page came up when he posted. I think it's pretty apparent he posted under his name accidentally. Given that it was an angry response to the Ronald Maximus bitch-slap, I have to assume he is RM.

That is the popular VOTE you frigging moron NOT the popular President. Unless you can show us a likeability poll correlating to the popular vote numbers, your post is asinine which, for you, is par for the course. Jesus, Lloydster, you do take stupid to a whole new level.
