So a friend of mine wanted for me to take her to the movies.
After doing the math in my head...
2 Tickets: $10.50 x 2
Soda: ??? x 2
Popcorn: ??? x 2
Total $30 minimum easily
After doing the math in my head I said to her "HELL NO" "Find somebody else to take you"
Am I a cheap bastard?
Am I the only one on here who thinks paying over $30 just to go to the movies is insane?
I'd pay to go to the movies with a hot black chick.

Soda and popcorn x 2 is a hell of a lot more than $10. You are probably looking at $40 to $50 total.

40 or 50 bucks isn't a lot to take out a hottie. You could easily spend that much on brunch or more on a good dinner. You can save a little if you share a drink and popcorn.

It is usually 60-65 bucks taking two kids to the movies, so I just leave my wife at home. There is no reason to add 10-12 dollars to the tab for her to see a pixar movie. Besides she enjoys the break.

In the winter, I sneak in a 6 pack of Bud and get hammered. Every once in a while, I'll accidentally knock over one of my emptys and it rolls down the theater floor for everyone to hear.

I sneak drinks, chips and the dipppppp in. My gf puts them in her bag, then I put it in her after we get home. Fuck paying those way over inflated prices for corn and corn syrup. I never understood why refreshment prices were so high.
