Well I am home now.

Felt like shit all last week. Nausea off an on. A little tenderness in the abdomen. Slight fever. Thought it was food poisoning after eating at Anitas last Tuesday.

Felt worse Thursday. No fever, but was in a lot of pain and puked once. Thursday evening, things seemed a little better. Friday morning was fine, then Friday afternoon I was pretty much doubled over in pain. Went to the urgent care. Doctor suspected appendicitis. Xray did not detect any lower abdomen abnormality. But WBC count was elevated and ultrasound showed enlarged areas.

Ambulance called.

CT scan performed and diagnosis confirmed. Battle with insurance company ensues as to whether the CT should have been pre-authorized ($500 penalty for no pre-authorization). Doctor is very irate at insurance - noting that I was brought into ER via the rescue squad. Insurance acquiesces. Surgery prepped. Tube stuffed down my throat, and then I guess I went nighty night.

Surgery was done laprosopically - thank god. But I now have three holes in my lower belly and feel like dogshit (even after the insurance again acquiesced and let me stay until this morning).

So anyone else go through this? How long before I can start exercising (biking) again?

Ouch! I had a minor sports injury that required surgery a few years back.. Recovery was painful for about a week. In a month I was back to my normal routine.

For my appendix, yes. I asked if I could take it home with me, and the nurses gave me a blank "WTF" stare....

LOL! Take it home and do what with it? Put it in a jar? Use it as a centerpiece? That's what I would have done..or used it as paper weight at work!

Typically two weeks is a good time frame for exercise for laparoscopic stuff, but at least wait until you follow up with your dr and they check your incisions. Hope you feel better asap!

lol, if you try squatting any weight right now you're likely to seriously rupture things and wind up in the ER. I'm sure you'll be up-and-running in a month or so, just ask your doctor. Unless you're elderly or in poor health, that shit should heal up stronger than ever.

It fucking hurt. My wife said I should have gone Thursday. I did not think it was worth it. Thought food poisoning, but when it lasted into Friday, I started to wonder.

You'll probably feel like crap for at least a week, especially since that ordeal went on for a while. You might try mild exercise after that, like walking. Avoid anything that puts pressure on the abdomen.

Could be wrong, but I'm guessing that your doctor doesn't want you exercise for about a month, and you're resisting the idea. In any case, good luck.

I think I will let the wifey be on top....

LOL I don't want to know how they extract the oil, but it really works fast. Completely fades away the red and flattens the raised scar tissue.

Feeling much better today until I noticed that one of my "holes" was rather warm to the touch and slightly red. Doctor drained it and it was happily infected. Nice regimen of antibiotics on top of all the shit.

Only two vicis left!
