At that age he was pretty much walking dead. I never cared much for him, especially in MASH, too understanding and unrealistic.

MASH was one of the worst TV shows ever made. Right up there with My Mother the Car, Friends, and Sienfeld.

I personally enjoyed Blue Boy from Dragnet. That whole episode was one big piece of propaganda against LSD. Blue Boy was completely dazed and tried to attack Harry Morgan after eating bark from a tree. Later Joe Friday explains that after taking LSD 2 times you are legally insane. After that the two crash a house party off Sunset Boulevard where everyone is listening to psychedelic music, trying to climb up walls, and eating paint. The episode ends with Blue Boy overdosing on LSD and dying. Talk about a couple of squares man totally ungroovy.

There was a huge campaign against all drugs on that show....often. A couple of the episodes really hammered hard on weed and how it just leads to the hard drugs. Things like that are why I still stop and watch if an old Dragnet is on. CLASSIC SHOW

Guys like Harry Morgan are truly God's chosen favorites, never had to work hard, always ate well, no worries about anything, never sick a day in life and live to a ripe old age. Truly blessed, God works in mysterious ways.

LSD at that time was not illegal ot possess. That was the objective of the program, to raise consciousness about it's evils.
