Useful Idiots
Date: November 06, 2011 04:23PM

The most "useful idiots" in this country are the $45k-a-year Tea Baggers who defend the right of the billionaire Koch Brothers to pay a lower proportion of their gross income in taxes. You people are fucking idiots to cheer on Union- breaking oligarchs who don't want to sacrifice shit for a country that has given them do much.

It's not only the Koch brothers. I think we would be amiss if we did not include Dr. Evil, himself -- Grover Norquist. (I shudder at the name.)

Maybe the idea of making it in this country is lost on people like WTL who think there should be some shame attached to success.
I wonder why your attacks always center on someone like the Koch brothers and not George Soros? Care to tell us?

I think you're missing the point

And you may be missing mine. No one should be paying above 30% in taxes. The government is too big and too intrusive. I do not want the government taking above 30% from me regardless of what I make it is just too much of my money not theirs.

When I see people like Sharon Bulova and Fairfax putting up section 8 cases in luxury condos then I know government has lost its sense of fairness and is a poor steward of my tax dollars.

You could confiscate all the total wealth of the top 1% and it wouldnt make a dent in government spending for one year. The problem is not that we are taxing too little but spending too much.

I also see targeted persons and companies by WTL who whines on and on about the Koch brothers but nothing about Soros or even worse GE which paid nothing in taxes and is a big supporter of Obama. You lose your argument when you do selective criticism.

Dang, in CO last week the tax increase measures specifically for education went down in flames by a two to one vote. Independents rejected it by almost that margin. Seems the folks have had enough with the taxers. Time for the cutters.

The alternative is to let the Unions wield their power so far to the point that this country will be like Greece with almost 150% debt to gdp.

Obama clowns are kicking the can down the road. (the can figuratively is the fact that we have to cut the size of government and spending).

Yes, Unions are obviously the problem with Detroit. They can't possibly compete with the UNIONIZED automakers in Japan and Europe.

You must have really hated Reagan then. Even after the 1986 tax act earned income was taxed at well above 30%.

Right wingers like to throw Greece out there, but remember there were two parts to the Greek fiasco. The first was an almost insatiable demand for public benefits. However the second part was the refusal by most classes within Greek society to PAY TAXES.

I was talking to an engineer at Koch Engineering's Wichita, KS office on Friday. I guess they have a small group of "occupiers" showing up outside her office complex citing the exact same concerns as you.

Attacking a company or in this case a consortium of companies like Koch is not a winning strategy for anyone trying to make whatever point. Personally attacking David or Charles Koch for being "union busting oligarchs" is interesting.

Koch Industries is an American private energy conglomerate based in Wichita, Kansas, with subsidiaries involved in manufacturing, trading and investments. Koch also owns Invista, Georgia-Pacific, Flint Hills Resources, Koch Pipeline, Koch Fertilizer, Koch Minerals and Matador Cattle Company. Koch companies are involved in core industries such as the manufacturing, refining and distribution of petroleum, chemicals, energy, fiber, intermediates and polymers, minerals, fertilizers, pulp and paper, chemical technology equipment, ranching, finance, commodities trading, as well as other ventures and investments. The firm employs 50,000 people in the United States and another 20,000 in 59 other countries. over 70,000 jobs world wide and believe me these aren't hamburger flipping positions. These are highly payed extremely skilled professionals that most certainly don't view the Koch brothers in the same regards as you.

Saying the Koch family is directly responsible for providing an opportunity for for thousands of families to enjoy life and a comfortable lifestyle is an understatement. Taking for-granted all the services Koch Industries and their employees provides the rest of us making our lives immeasurably more comfortable and enjoyable borders on insanity. Do people bitch about the Koch's when they turn their furnaces on in the winter? Or fill their gas tanks? Are you going to tear down your house if you find out the lumber was supplied to the builder by Georgia pacific? I think not.

The Koch family has created a staggering amount of wealth. Factoring the amount of revenue Koch Industries is responsible for generating directly through corporate taxation and indirectly through all the salaries it pays to its over 50,000 employees here in the US is mind blowing.

Accusing the Koch family of not paying their "fair share" of revenues is equally perplexing.

David Koch executive vice president of Koch Industries

Charles Koch co-owner, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of Koch Industries Inc.

To be sure, the Kochs have given "more than a hundred million dollars to right wing causes" (which is their right, by the way). But in the last decade, it's also worth noting the Kochs have given more than $600 million in pledged or donated money to arts, education, and medical research, including (but not limited to):

New York-Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell: $15 million
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center: $25 million
The Hospital for Special Surgery: $26 million
Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center: $30 million
Prostate Cancer Foundation: $41 million
Deerfield Academy: $68 million
Lincoln Center's NY State Theater: $100 million
Massachusetts Institute of Technology: $139 million
Here we have civic-minded business leaders engaging in their right to participate in the political process -- and also donating large amounts of wealth to philanthropic causes.

Over 1/2 billion dollars in private charitable contributions.

I'm sure the government could have spent the money more wisely. And I'm also sure they donated to all these charities so as to pay off whomever necessary to advance their cabal. Or maybe they diverted tax free money to what they saw as good causes.

Oh the humanity....

So what you are saying is because they make some donations they are free to trample on the rights of everyone else?

Point of order:

They HAVE NOT competed with the UNIONIZED automakers in Japan and Europe.

Which tells me it may not be the unions........just AMERICAN UNIONS.

Screwed twice........even after being found out that they owned a resort that most union members would never see and promising to sell it, evidently there was a second "double secret probation" vote and oops......with the US backing GM..maybe they'd hold on to it.

Off track I know, but check out the heartfelt love the Koch brothers have for this country .

Actually, just one Koch brother, David. The multi-national conglomerate is so corrupt. His own brother sued him ..
