Wow, what a snobby HOA Board, the house is ONLY 2700 sf and will bring property values down?

Normally I love to bash HOAs. However this time it appears the builder may have jumped the gun. The article seems to indicate that the builder proceeded based on the HOA EQUIVALENT of an assurance that the building permit would be issued rather than on the permit itself.

I agree. The HOA has been placed in a bad position here that was really none of their doing.

Yeah, most HOA's have a 30 day review requirement, so if the builder waited until the last minute that's their fuck up.

EDIT: Additionally, I'm sure there are the bylaws that indicate what needs to be submitted, so the lack of mentioning a landscaping plan doesn't preclude the builder from submitting one if it's laid out in the rules. Sounds like a lack of preparation.
