Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
Theme: MSM jumps to conclusion that Rep. Giffords shooting was result of right wingers and declining political discourse. Fact: deranged lunatic with no discernable political worldview commits heinous act. Media basically silent.
Theme: Democrats don't engage in violent hyperbole. Fact: during the debt debate over the last three weeks, Democracts have accused Republicans of being anti-woman, killing 70K seniors, etc.
Theme: Obama bombing for humanitarian reasons is justified and media says almost nothing about friendly and civilian deaths. Fact: Bush routinely skewered for friendly and civilian deaths.
Theme: gas prices are close to $5 a gallon. Fact: major media attacked Bush for raise in gas prices.

To be clear, I'm talking about the main stream media, not the blogosphere. If you don't believe me, read the Pew Center for Media Research's study last year on how the media treats Obama. It's disgusting.

I agree, which is why NBC, owned by GE, which had $12 Billiion in profits while paying no federal taxes, and whose CEO is one of Obama's closest advisors, licks the presidential boots every chance it gets.

Yeah, I know. So good that 70% of the U.S. thinks we're on the wrong track, but NBC skips that to insist Obama still "very popular" personally.

Who said that? The Washington Po, networks and NYT were falling all over themselves to declare a new, enlightened Obama Doctrine (which apparently entail mass policy confusion).
How many people really talked about "main stream media" until Sarah Palin splashed into the political scene?
Don't bother answering. Nobody used or cared about that phrase until she popularized it. People think bloggers are only better-qualified than legitimate journalists if said blogger supports their pre-conceived notions.

Check your facts. People have been referring to the MSM for over a decade. At least since the 1990s.
