Oh, I know the problem. We must not be paying unionized civil servants enough.

And we need to get working on some more "green jobs". and fast!

Yeah, not so much.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney) -- The jobs outlook brightened in February, as strong business hiring helped trim unemployment to its lowest level in nearly two years.

The unemployment rate fell to 8.9% last month, from 9.0% in January, the best reading since April of 2009. The unemployment rate has now fallen nearly a full percentage point in the last three months, the most rapid improvement in nearly 28 years.

Yeah, I too look to discredited pollsters for my economic data.

We do need green jobs and infrastructure jobs, and all sorts of jobs that could come about with a massive government infusion/aid program. There is an easy way to jump start this too. Get out of Afghanistan/Iraq and start investing that money here instead. They pay-off would be much, much greater than throwing money and lives away in such god awful backwaters as there.

You can take the girl out of socialism, but you can't take socialism out of the girl!

Look at how great the Volt is working out after Billions of subsidized dollars

Well, since they don't just sell one car, you aren't looking at the whole picture. GM sales have been rising consistently for at least the last six months. With a high of a 42.5% jump in sales in February. I'd say it's looking better for them than a couple of years ago.

U.S. adds 192K new jobs; unemployment rate dips to 8.9%

Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, March 4, 2011; 10:13 AM

Job growth soared ahead and the unemployment rate fell in February, as the economy gained momentum and people who had been stuck at home because of January snow returned to work.

Employers added 192,000 jobs in February, the Labor Department said Friday. The number closely matched analysts' expectations, accelerating from a revised 63,000 jobs added in January. The unemployment rate edged down to 8.9 percent, from 9 percent.

It is perhaps the best all-around jobs report in three years.

It is indeed, taking it back to the beginning of the decline when the demokrats and pelsosi finished up their first kongress, then Obama took over.

Now that the Republicans have allayed the crushing new taxation fears, we are now seeing confidence return to businesses and employers and they are hiring.

You sir, FAIL!

Wonder why the unemployment rate is at an artificially low 8.9%? Three simple words: Labor Force Participation. At 64.2%, it was unchanged from last month, and continues to be at a 25 year low. Should the LFP return to its 25 trendline average of 66.1%, the unemployment rate would be 11.6%.

This is exactly the unemployment number you want to watch. The Labor Dept. for some reason is always changing the way they formulate and quantify data and it's bull shit. Volatile oil prices and QE2 are still in full swing and we are in the midst of an manufactured bubble that will collapse as fast as it formed leaving us in an even deeper economic hole. My God it is as clear as it has ever been.

Look deeper into BLS PDF files and show me where all this positive jobs data is and its foundation. Headlines are easy to read and parrot but reality is hard to camouflage. Come 2012 they can drop everyone out of the workforce and report a 0% unemployment rate and it still will have little or no effect at the ballot box. Just a bunch of people who know smoke is being blown straight up their ass. And they will be pissed.

Unemployment rates aren't telling the truth. 10% means nothing. We all know, of those 10% who are unemployed, only 2% are actually looking for a job and give a shit. The other 8% prefer unemployment, welfare, and are just flat out fucking lazy.
