Vince, just so we're all clear on who you'd like us to bless, are you referring to immigrants or illegal immigrants?
Legal immigrants from anywhere in the world have my blessing, but not so for the illegals. The issue isn't just taxes and crime, it's more about documentation and knowing who's here in this country and whether they're visiting or staying for good.
That doesn't seem like too much to ask for, does it?
Could the policies be better to make that more conceivable? Absolutely, but until that's worked out, any undocumented people are here illegally and subject to the current rules, no matter how nice and hard working they are.
Instead of wasting your time posting threads in FU, write your friendly politicians and get them off their asses to pass an immigration policy we can all live with.

First thing...a politicians job is to respond to the priorities of the people. It is much more important to discuss issues amongst the people then it is to discuss with a politician.
Second...god bless all immigrants...legal and illegal. Personally I think the illegal immigrant "problem" is the most over hyped problem..designed solely to divert our attention away from much more serious problems. Your issue about knowing who is here and who isnt....why is this such an urgent issue? Our borders are more secure now then they have ever been! There has always been an open borders between us and Canada/Mexico..nothing has changed...9/11 didnt involve illiegal immigrants...the terrorists that did attack us were all here legally. 9/11 could have and should have been stopped by simple security measures such as reinforced cockpit doors.
If you really want to know where all the illegals are...grant them a raod to citizenship...they'll sign up in a heart beat....and pay income taxes to boot!

We shouldn't be wasting our time or money on it. It will be at least 10+ yrs. before we realize any production from the drilling while we should be developing better sources of energy for the climate instead.
The oceans experience earth quakes and volcanoes all the time which could cause our oceans to become contaminated under such conditions. We haven't begun to explore the oceans and their benefits before we destroy them.
We are in a race to kill our planet with drilling and nukes, there are safer and better alternatives.
