Does the man look poor or oppressed?
Is he really a terrorist? Am I guilty of profiling?
Have I ever done anything to him that would inspire him to attack?
Could we run away?
What does my wife think?
What about the kids?
Could I possibly swing the gun like a club and knock the knife out of his hand?
What does the law say about this situation?
Does the pistol have appropriate safety built into it?
Why am I carrying a loaded gun anyway, and what kind of message
does this send to society and to my children?
Is it possible he'd be happy with just killing me?
Does he definitely want to kill me, or would he be content just to wound me?
If I were to grab his knees and hold on, could my family
get away while he was stabbing me?

Why is this street so deserted?
We need to raise taxes, have paint & weed day.

I find this terribly offensive. Here's a better test.

1. The country experiences a terrorist attack. Do you:
a) Say "All war is bad-If we were a better citizen of the world this wouldn't have happened";
b) Say "American needs to have a strong economy in order to deal with the terrorists-time for tax cuts and higher salaries for high earners".
c) Say "We need to get world support for our efforts".
d) Say "Where is the nearest Marine Recruiting Center?

2. During the war do you:
a) Go protest American aggression;
b) Walk around saying "I support the troops*" (* so long as it doesn't raise my taxes and so long as someone else's kids do the actual fighting);
c) Deplore attacks on enemy held towns and villages, then wonder whether to wear your support the troops t-shirt or your stop the war sweatshirt to the bistro;
d) Go BANG, BAND, STAB, STAB and then ask "Why the hell can't I drink beer here, I'm an AMERICAN SOLDIER?"

3. At the end of the war do you:
a) Say "This war was terrible-We must never fight another war again, ever".
b) Say "Government has gotten too expensive-We need to cut spending and taxes";
c) Say "Now that the war is over we can divert military spending to social programs";
d) Go to the VFW to watch SEC football.
