when does flesh become meat?

so I was wondering this: when does flesh (animal or human) officially become meat? Technically, it's the same thing, right? We call cow flesh beef, or just meat, right? Isn't that weird? If you think about it, we are all made of meat. Isn't that weird to you? We're all just walking pieces of meat if you think about it.

If you intend to eat the flesh, it then is referred to as "meat".

The words are interchangable, and use depends mostly on context.

I always thought meat referred to the animals we eat, flesh was more of a human connotation.

what if you're a cannibal? People could be meat then. Or, a lion might think of a human as meat, the same way we think of cows as meat. Don't act like people don't get eaten.
