Ford vs Toyota vs Dodge?

I'm looking to buy a new pickup truck soon, but I'm having a really hard time deciding what to get. I've always owned a Ford, and never really considered buying anything else until now. I really want an F-150, although I've been looking at Toyota Tacomas lately and they are very nice trucks. I'd like to buy American though. I've also been looking at Dodge Dakotas lately. Any opinions?

The new Fords get a lot of good reviews, but Toyota is still the best quality (despite the recalls). Toyota vehicles these days have a lot of American labor put into them, especially the truck division.

I've rented a Dodge Dakota, a lot better quality than most of Chrysler products, but there are still better buys out there in terms of build quality.

Have you considered Nissan? Their trucks are very durable.

Nissan GTR. Best car of the year. Only 1500 will be sold. Only car that will go up in value. 20 years from now, it will be like the Shelby Mustang(Elanor). This car will be valued at over quarter million $ in 20 years due to the rarity and the baddassedness.

This info really helps someone in the market for a truck.

I haven't looked at Nissan at all. Right now I'm pretty much trying to decide between the F-150 and Tacoma. I know that the F-150 is more comparable with the Tundra, but the Tacoma I'm looking to get cost around 31k, which is about the same price I would be paying for an F-150. I'm kind of leaning towards the Tacoma right now because it's a little bit easier to get around in (and park) and a little better on gas mileage. I'm just waiting to see if Toyota will do 0% APR for 60 months on the Tacomas any time soon.

I don't know about pick-ups, but my family does own a 2008 Toyota 4Runner Limited, and I can tell you that it's given us the fewest problems out of any vehicle we've ever owned (Domestic or Import). Not only that, but it's one of the most capable off-road vehicles available (Right up there with the Land Rover (For 2/3 the price or less), and the Wrangler), and it's built upon a truck platform. I had the chance to drive it from Canada, down to Florida and back, and it's amazing.

Another thing too, we went for the V6 with the 4Runner, and that engine has serious pull. It's specs are nearly as high as the V8, but you have a lot more fuel efficiency to boost.

Go with Toyota. I own a Tundra and love it. No major problems even after 5 years. Tacomas are reliable as well.

+1 I really don't know why people still buy Jeeps. Chrysler has really let that brand slide downhill; especially the Compass and Patriot. They are Dodge Calibers with Jeep logos.
