So I was watching the Watchmen on HBO the other day, and it got me to thinking how members of the Watchmen match up with FFXU members. Here's my thinking:


Rorschach = Gravis
Night Owl II = MrMephisto
Silk Spectre II = Genevieve
The Comedian = Inkahootz
Dr. Manhattan = RESton Peace
Ozymandias = TheMeeper


Any thoughts?

I've read the comic/graphic novel and seen the movie. I enjoyed the movie, but I never "got" the graphic novel. And yes, they could have shaved 20 minutes or so off of the film, but I think it would have lost something since it was pretty much true to the actual story.

What I liked about the movie was that it was more thought provoking than most comic book movies. I would rather see Watchmen than sit through another fucking ponderous Fantastic Four or Spiderman 3, that's for damn sure.

my problem with the movie was it was ponderous and hit you over the head with its, "message". Just like Avatar did. It doesnt leave anything open to interpretation, like the, "we blew it." comment in easy rider or when the dude stuck a drill in his head at the end of Pi. That and the characters sucked.

I just watched this... this... movie... What the fuck is this shit? Is this supposed to be some sort of neo-noir movie? I couldn't stand the pace... or the melodrama.... or the unnecessary cg...

i think gravis would be the dude that owned the company and blew up new york to save humanity. I just cant see him being a super hero without killing some innocent people

The graphic novel series had a lot of imagery and depth that got lost in translation into a single film. I liked the movie, but also felt that people who didn't know anything about "The Watchmen" probably wouldn't care for it much.

By "unnecessary CG," were you referring to Dr. Manhattan's bright blue animated penis? Because I thought that was unnecessary.
