Googles clean look or Bing's background photo look?

I like both actually, but Bing's Aerial Photos definitely trump the SAT Images from Google (Except for the fact that Google has Street View). They both have their purposes.

As for the background images/look, again, I like both, but I have to admit that I do most of my searching with Google. I remember when we first became connected to the Internet back in 1996 or so, Yahoo was THE default Search Engine, then suddenly Google sprang out of nowhere and completely obliterated the competition. I used to actually hate the blandness of Google compared to Yahoo, but now I like it better in fact.

Bings SAT's by far trump googles, but that's because Microsoft has in's with defense agencies satellites. You can almost read the signs with bing. Good by google earth.

Dogpile was what I used in the nineties.

it's very simple, microsoft makes it pretty to keep the braindead users who barely know how to use the internet, entertained. bing is all about "ooooww pretty" while google gives you the damn results you are looking for, without prejudice.

as for mapping, microsoft has better images (see closer) but actually find things you want instead of just a strait address.

also, google returns optimized versions of each page depending on the browser you are using, especially when it comes to mapping. i cant even use microsofts new mapping site because it's locked into Windows only technology, so if you have a mac or linux, like me, no soup for you.

google has less ads, far less distractions, it's faster and has better results. those things alone dictate which search engine i want to use.

Another good reason to use Windows.

No, I don't not work for Microsoft. I also have a variety of operating systems including Linux.

I've been in computers for years. A lot of new stuff is just a buzzword change. Famous for about six months and then dies out. I predict the same for ubuntu. But, if you want to waste six months learning ubuntu, go right ahead.

LOL, and while you are at it don't forget to learn Chrome because that is the best browser. Oops.... that was a year ago that happened.

dude... six months?! you must be retarded because even simpleton can learn how to command it fully in a week. btw, ubntu has been around a while and has become an extremely popular distribution, so it's not going away.

learn chrome? it's a browser, not not rocket surgery. btw, chrome as is extremely fast. the only reason i dont use it is because it's lacking a a few addons firefox has that i dont was to give up.

check it out: http://sixrevisions.com/infographs/browser-performance/
dont worry though, microsoft has "the facts" about IE8 vs browsers a year out of date: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/internet-explorer/get-the-facts/browser-comparison.aspx

microsoft loves to give half-truths, you know, just not giving you the whole story.

oh, and here's me one upping you.

attached is the a display of my system* fully loaded, browser(firefox), media, rss reader, irc client and all. that's right, under 700MB or RAM in use. can you even load windows 7 in under 1GB?

*owl added for lol effect :)

Try using Google on a mobile device. Google detects what it is and gives you a useable interface. Try the same with Bing. Guess Microsoft can't be bothered with all those pesky non-Windows cell phones, etc.

i ran across some info unexpectedly, so i thought i would share.

quite a few people switched to using Chrome.

see it yourself: http://marketshare.hitslink.com/browser-market-share.aspx?qprid=0
(on a side note, it's hilarious that more people use the PS3's browser than MS Pocket Internet Explorer.)

Firefox has been fucking up recently with me on several machines. I just gets stuck for 5 seconds periodically for no reason. People are saying there's some issue with the flash plugin but I've upgraded to the latest and still have the problem. May switch back to IE8. Hearing good things.

For some reason, I can't get Torbutton to work on the latest Firefox install. Looking at the graph Gravis put up, how the fuck did Chrome beat out Opera? It runs circles around Chrome.
