It will become a shock to most who voted for him that he is not eligibile to be president. I hope you have not made plans for his Inauguration, because it will not be happening. This news may casue rioting

I sure don't believe in much of what Barry has said or promised, but he's my President now and I'll support him even though his spending ideas really need some looking at.

The Supreme Court has this complaint to look at that was fastracked through because of the timing of the issue, not because of any great merits of the case. I wouldn't count on this going very far, it's just a nut job thing thats getting more web and media play than it should.

I'll take any bets and pay 100 to 1 the case is dismissed.

B) It's been posted on Off-Topic already about 5 times
C) It's retarded

Actually, keep posting it in here, and keep mocking other user names. Nothing gets people banned faster than doing those 2 things.

Go for it. I dare you.

"Supreme Court will deny" .... A little forward looking isn't it?

Unfortuneately, when you are proven wrong, you will be anonymousely posting other drivel.

OK, I will go on the record and will predict Obama WILL take the Oath of Office on Jan 20th.

Let us see whose "forward looking" statements turn out to be correct.

Supreme Court rejects bid to deny Barack Obama presidency

By David G. Savage | Washington Bureau
December 9, 2008

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court turned down an emergency appeal Monday from a New Jersey man who claimed that President-elect Barack Obama was not a "natural born citizen" and therefore was ineligible to become president.

The setback is the latest for a small group of persistent litigants who want the courts to block Obama from taking office. So far, none of these plaintiffs has convinced any judge that Obama's assertion that he was born in Hawaii on Aug. 4, 1961, is incorrect.

The controversy has been prominent in the conservative blogosphere. It is based on the provision in the Constitution that says, "No person except a natural born citizen … shall be eligible to the office of president." Any person born in this country is considered under U.S. law to be a natural born citizen.

But Leo Donofrio, a retired lawyer from East Brunswick, N.J., contended that Obama was ineligible to be president because his father was from Kenya. In October he sued New Jersey's secretary of state, arguing that both Obama and Sen. John McCain should be removed from the state ballot because neither was a natural born citizen.

I think the plan is that Bush will stage a terrorist attack and then invoke his new law that allows him to remain President "in times of national emergency".

FYI...

The actual Constitutional law says that the President must have been born within the boarders of the United States. Obama fits that with his Hawaii birth certificate... John McCain on the other hand... was born on a military base in Panama. While bases are US soil... they are not within the boarders of the United States.

Really Meep? And how will someone get banned? By their User Name? There isn't registration on this site. By their IP? Just unplug your router for about 15 seconds and plug it back in. Voila, new IP. By their e-mail? For starters, it's optional, and even if it weren't, it isn't hard to make a new e-mail address.

As for the thread, it might as well be deleted. The Supreme court did not, in fact, say they would consider the case. On the 8th of December they said that they would NOT hear the case.

That aside, even if they did hear the case, and even if they did deny Obama the right to serve as the next POTUS, the next big question would then be, "So what do we do now?"

On one hand you could say that Biden would become President since his party won the election. Then Pelosi would move up to be the new Vice President based on the line of succession.

On the other hand you could say that McCain and Palin would move into the POTUS and VPOTUS slots since they were the party that came in second in the election.

Or... You could argue that the entire election is null and void. Hold another set of Primary elections, national conventions, and have another election.

You are incorrect. The 25th amendment clearly calls for the REPLACEMENT of the VP if the sitting VP ascends to the presidency. Pelosi would stay speaker and a new VP would be chosen (unless they choose Pelosi, but that's not automatic or likely).

Pelosi would only advance (directly to president) if Obama and Biden were knocked out simultaneously. I want to make this clear: there is no line of succession for the vice president or any of the other jobs in the presidential line.

This is so silly. This country couldn't afford let alone stand another minute of what we had to live through during this last election. It is what it is. Get over it.

Still, one has to wonder how on Earth a candidate could be permitted to run without producing proof of age and birth nationality in the first place. THe solution here is to plug the hole so it doesn't happen again.

Short of overwhelming evidence, the Supreme Court would be insane to take this case up. But the fact is the morons pushing it have produced ZERO evidence that contradicts Obama's citizenship. The birth certificate is valid and real. Instead of believing documented proof, Obama's family, the U.S. State Department and understanding the fact his mother could pass her citizenship onto Obama regardless of where he was born, the conspiracy theorists prefer to believe crack-pots from Kenya who are trying to make a buck, along the lines of their friends in Nigeria.

Wait for what? The Republicans, who don't control the Congress, to start an impeachment proceeding that will put them further into the political wilderness?

It's a non-starter. Period.

Let's look at it this way. There is a better case against Cheney and Rumsfeld for war crimes than for Obama not being a citizen. What do you think will happen if a case Obama gets any traction at all?

The birth certificate has been made public, you idiot.

Here is a link to FactCheck.org, which is run by the Republican-leaning Annenberg Foundation. The researchers at Annenberg have personally reviewed the birth certificate and found it to be legit. The fact that you didn't even know that Obama had turned it over to the press and independent parties to review makes you sound like a total fucking idiot...

I was hoping Republicans were going to get their shit together after this election but it's increasingly clear they are still moving full steam ahead over the cliff. Wasting time on nonsense like this birth certificate thing, hanging on to Sarah Palin as some sort of leading voice in the party, distributing and then defending "Barack the Magic Negro", and continuing with their hysterics and scare tactics about communism/socialism, illegal immigration, and the fairness doctrine, make it clear that they are a dead party for the foreseeable future.

Unfortunately the Republican Party has deteriorated into a Nixonian/Rovian attack machine with no political philosophy or core. It's all about power for power's sake, with no concept of what Republicans stand for. The whole appeal of Sarah Palin isn't who she is or what she believes. It's because there is this cynical belief that Johnny Redneck and Blue Collar Bob will vote for her, even though Republican policies have left these guys unemployed and without insurance or retirements.

If Obama manages to turn the economy around before 2012 and keeps the country safe, Republicans may be in the political wilderness for quite some time.
