Fairfax Underground
Welcome to Fairfax Underground, a project site designed to improve communication among residents of Fairfax County, VA. Feel free to post anything Northern Virginia residents would find interesting.
No. I have never revealed anyone's IP address for any reason. I will never do so without a court order forcing me to. Nothing like this has ever happened.
Since this site allows embedded images it's possible for a crafty person to embed an image that's hosted on a webserver under their control and get the IP addresses of everyone viewing an individual thread (as their browser will go out and fetch the embedded image).
However this information would still not allow them to obtain a specific poster's IP address, just a huge list of everyone that has viewed the thread.
Every other forum site that allows embedded HTML operates in the same fashion.
Just FYI.

Not that having a persons ip address will help you do anythign unless you are quite experienced. You can type it into one of those websites the geolocates ip's but they are inaccurate. Check your own and it will be like 10 miles off.
Ok, I was just wondering. Because people post some mean things on the off-topic and if I were to piss someone off with a comment to a thread I found to be stupid...I was worried they would be able to obtain my information...scary!
Thank you!
