Pretty much neither can bring along enough votes from their own sides to pass anything and if something somehow makes it through either house, then it won't make it through the other.

All of you parasitic contractors might want to put aside some of that Xmas money to carry you for a while.

Or you might want to stuff some of that cash and gift card into a little brown envelope and mail it off to your congressman because that's what it'll take.
