Purely theoretical. Like asking what a tree falling in the woods sounds like when no one is there.

I'd give the edge to Romney. Or his writers anyway. I think he had better material.

Either way, refreshing to see both of them lighten up a little.

I watched it on CSPAN last night. Best line went to Romney:

"And by the way in the spirit of Sesame Street, the president's remarks tonight are brought to you but the letter 'O' and the number $16 trillion"

Get it, "O" (owe). Went over most of lib journalist heads sitting behind Romney.

Both men were funny. Interesting after it was over, Obama went over to Cardinal Dolan (Archbishop of NY) and asked if he would walk our with him. I wonder what deal Obama was trying to cook up with Dolan. The homilies in the Catholic churches (at least in the DC area dicoses) are pounding the "vote your Catholic values" message every Sunday now.

Obama's energy totally shifted on the joke about his middle name.

I do this for a living. His energy totally shifted for a few moments as he delivered the joke about wishing he could use his middle name. He went into a genuine (though masked) pissed off subconscious stance. The truth in the joke (which of course was written by a writer) really affected him as it was delivered and he could not control his subconscious reaction, because of course, it is the subconscious. Could anyone else also notice that momentary shift? Seriously, it was not subtle at all. That shows anger about a perceived prejudice he feels America as a whole has towards who he is, almost as if it is an attack on him and his culture and beliefs.

I see it, too, 65TRE... very disconcerting.
