Pasco County Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley is warning voters about potentially misleading early voting information after his office received hundreds of inquiries from voters Tuesday wanting to cast early ballots.Early voting in Florida doesn't begin until Oct. 27 and lasts through Nov. 3. Corley traced one of the complaints to a robocall from Organizing for America, an arm of the Democratic Party.

"It is causing, I would say, massive confusion," Corley said. "The problem is the message going out is severely misleading."

This issue arose a day after Corley took a complaint from a voter about an OFA volunteer who initially said he worked for the elections office. The man told the voter there was a problem with her voter registration status, though officials confirmed her registration is fine.

Red flags over voter registrations are popping up in counties across Florida after charges that a company hired by Florida Republicans was turning in phony registrations.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began looking into Strategic Allied Consulting after the company turned in more than 100 phony registration forms on behalf of the Republican Party.

Now, officials in at least seven Florida counties are informing prosecutors or state election officials about questionable voter registration forms filled out on behalf of the Republican Party of Florida.

State GOP parties in North Carolina and Virginia have also fired the firm, citing irregularities.

In Pasco County, Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley says he has turned three suspected cases of voter registration fraud in to the State Attorney's office.

Wednesday, he showed us one voter registration form that set off alarm bells in his office. The voter's birthday was changed, and Social Security numbers didn't match up.

"All that came together to say something's not right here," Corley said. "It's very upsetting as the Supervisor of Elections that someone would take that process and try and tinker with it for nefarious motives."

Pasco County is just one of many Florida counties that are seeing a wave of voter irregularities. The situation has similarities to the 2009 ACORN controversy. The activist group, which had ties to the Democratic Party, was busted for voter registration fraud after setting mandatory quotas for workers.

Republican activist Bob Mirch, who has investigated voter fraud, says quota systems leads to big problems in both parties.

"It may have been part of the work order to go out and do this to boost the numbers," Mirch said.

In Pasco County, Supervisor Corley has also seen another disturbing trend causing voter confusion: he says robo-calls and door-to-door solicitors have been going out saying early voting has started. Dozens of senior citizens have shown up to the elections office, only to realize they've been duped.

According to the Supervisor of Elections Office, a group called Organizing for America sent out the calls that early voted was to start today.

Early voting doesn't begin until Saturday, October 27. Corley said he contacted the group and they agreed to stop sending out the message.

"It's troubling that people are getting in their cars, some of which are senior citizens, and coming to our office and being given misinformation," Corley said.
