My twins actually started at 10 because of the cheer and dance outfits they wore. Now at 14 it would look pretty awkward if they wore bikini panties with tights or volleyball shorts don't you think? It should never look like you are or are not wearing underwear.

After complaints from mall management the underwear was removed and can no longer be found on shelves. Nonetheless the damage was done and parents everywhere will now know where to not take their hildren next time they’re at the Greeley mall.

I saw this a couple months ago. Crotchless panties for tweens sounds like nothing but trouble too me. I hear wearing no panties is the latest trend. I think it's mostly the college girls for now.

I would never let my sixth grader wear a thong or anything else that is prematurely sexualizing.

Being a man I have seen the styles change over the years and change back sometimes too. Bra straps are definitely in and visible thong strings are out. The age of the girls following fashion trends is getting lower. I don't have a problem with girls bra straps showing but if she's 11 and her pink bra strap has victoria's secret printed on it it's kinda weird. I do love the shorts that have all the tiny holes in them like football jerseys have. You can see the brightly colored patterns right thru them. It's hilarious.

Thanks PO. Some people like jumping to conclusions ya know? And a lot of people are jokers too. I explained what happened to the people at lunch and some guys had the same reaction with the jokes. Mostly the women were empathetic towards the girl and realize how accidents happen.

Hmmm...I admittedly have never discussed such a subject with my daughter; whatever she wears under her pants - or not - is pretty much her call.

She does mention the various cliques at school (er..."schools" now) and discusses "girlie girls" who are into things like very-poorly-applied makeup, etc, but has yet to mention what sort of underwear they wear!
