How do ICE detainers work in Prince William County

So let's say a dude gets picked up for DUI or something like that. Cops determine that he is in the USA illegally.

1. Can the guy get out on bond, or does the ICE detainer prevent that from happening?

2. Once the guy serves time for the DUI, does he get handed over to ICE? If so, what happens at that point?

Deportation depends on criminal history. If its a first DUI then most likely the person will not have deportation proceedings started.

If he has an ice detainer he could possibly get a bond and told to report back to Fed court for immigration hearings.

If no bond he will be transferred to an Ice facility, proceedings will start, he'll be brought back for DUI trial, then deported pending the outcome.

There are other things involved but that is the gist.
