The May 27 crime report from the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office included a stint with spray-painted Satanist symbols, a cigar-smoker hiding a knife and various broken windows.

Devious

On May 26, at 7:55 a.m., an unknown subject(s) spray painted Satanic symbols in the 90 block of Seneca Ridge Dr., on Duckspring Dr. and on Augusta Dr. in Sterling. The culprit allegedly administered spray paint to the roadway, sidewalk, on a utility box, street signs and on the Seneca Ridge Middle School sign.

“There was the typical pentagram and other symbols,” Sheriff’s Office spokesman Kraig Troxell said, also noting that the suspect using hot pink spray paint.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the graffiti appeared to be juvenile, and the incident is still under investigation.

Secondhand stab

Deputies responded to the Tommy’s Place II restaurant on Enterprise St. in Sterling at 6:46 p.m. on May 26 for reports of a subject who displayed a knife.

According to the Sherriff’s Office, it was reported that the subject was asked to cease from smoking a cigar at the bar — he then allegedly pulled up his shirt and displayed a knife tucked into his waistband.

The 19-year-old, from Manassass, received a summons for possessions of a concealed weapon, and the knife was seized by police officers.

Window woes

May 26 was hard on panes of glass, as residents reported broken windows on three different streets in Ashburn.

At 3:06 a.m., a resident contacted the Sheriff’s Office after they heard a window break at their home in the 20300 block of Flushing Meadows Ct. in Ashburn. Upon inspection, they found a window damaged in the living room area of the home, according to the Sheriff’s Office, and a piece of wood appeared to have broken the window. Shortly thereafter, a window of another home — also on Flushing Meadows Ct. — was discovered damaged.

Meanwhile, on nearby French Open Ct. in Ashburn, the Sheriff’s Office reported another damaged window — this time via a ceramic lawn ornament.

Finally, the 43900 block of Championship Pl., also in Ashburn, saw two houses damaged. Ceramic lawn ornaments were removed from the yard of one residence and an outdoor light was damaged. As deputies patrolled the area, they found an additional home with a damaged window, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

“Based on the time of the cases and of the close proximity, the same suspect is likely responsible,” Troxell said.
