A Lovettsville man received a 35-year total prison sentence, with 20 years suspended, for sexual abuse charges committed against a minor over several years.
William Matthew Flack, 38, was sentenced to a decade behind bars for aggravated sexual battery charges and five additional years for another related sexual offense.
These terms, according to Loudoun Circuit Court Judge Thomas Horne, must be served in their entirety. Flack was also sentenced to 10 years for forcible sodomy charges and another 10 years for animate-object sexual penetration—both suspended sentences if Flack successfully completes 15 years of probation after his release.
“Our goal is to go after these types of cases vigorously,” Commonwealth’s Attorney Jim Plowman stated. “In these types of cases, the victims’ lives are emotionally damaged and they often carry around the scars of this abuse forever.”
