Heard some disturbing news about the Hayfield lacrosse program. Quite a few players have been suspended for drug and alcohol use. One of the offenders was the starting QB from this past season. Say it isn’t so. They weren’t that strong of a team anyways but now they will be even weaker. Maybe this will be a wake up call for the LAX program at Hayfield. This is the third time in 3 seasons that something of this nature has happened.

The inaugural Fairfax Lax Fest will be a great end to the spring season, or a fun start to the summer season. The tournament will be held on Saturday, June 21 in Fairfax, Virginia. Games will be played at Baron Cameron Park, near Herndon Virginia. The park has eight rectangular grass fields with plenty of parking and easy access.

The Fairfax Lax Fest is a one-day 10 v 10 tournament for boys U9, U11, U13, and U15 teams. All referees will be experienced VSHL or NCAA certified referees.

Teams must complete the on-line application, and mail a check for the $850 application fee to apply.

Each team must register at the tournament site at least 30 minutes prior to their first game. Teams must submit a signed copy of the team roster and a completed waiver for each player to register.

Team rosters are not due until the day of the tournament. Teams can be formed from spring teams, summer teams, or just a group of friends that want to play together.

We will try to find a team for players that want to apply individually. Individual players should email their name, birthdate, position, phone number, and email address to davidm@dmshade3.com.
