What happened Feb 16th on Roberts (north of Burke Centre Parkway)?

Tonight, Wednesday Feb 16th at about 6:15pm, Roberts Road Northbound was blocked by police activity after Burke Centre Parkway. Eastbound traffic was turning left on Burke Commons Road instead of Roberts. Roberts was still blocked at 7:30pm.

My first thought was that it was an accident, but for it to be closed that long, it had to be a pretty bad one. I was thinking they finally had that intersection's safety issues addressed - unless it was an accident involving the Wal-Mart exit.

Southbound Roberts appeared to be open, so whatever it was only involved Northbound lanes.

I hope everyone involved is OK, but how long the road was closed does not look promising.

Around 6:30 I was driving up Roberts from the VRE. Where you can turn into Walmart there was a motorcycle down in the middle of the lane opposite mine with a white vehical turning into Walmart stopped in the middle of the road. The motorcycle looked pretty beat up, while the car looked barely touched. Later in the evening around 8 ish I drove by and the road was still blocked. Not a good sign.

I'm very impressed with your coverage and that you're following this forum.

I just saw the article in Patch's RSS feed and came back to share the same link. I discovered Patch a few weeks ago and added a few of the feeds to my reader. Thanks for the solid local reporting.

this is a horrible accident. so whos at fault?

an old woman who is hard at seeing or a speeding motorcycle, if it indeed was speeding?

its not hard HEARING a crotch rocket. this could be similar to that henderson road accident where the impacter was going so damn fast no one saw the other until impact.

the article says the old lady's car was "spun around on impact." how does a tiny bike spin a white toyota around like that? only if it was operated fast enough.

its all about that law of inertia.

im a rider. i believe in safety on motorcycles. im tired of reading shit like this where young people are getting hurt due to carelessness. the carelessness is both on bikers and those operating the larger vehicle. people need to fucking use their brain because too many young people are getting hurt and killed on both sides of bar.

because im a caring and religious person ill say cc and his family are in my prayers. even though i believe the motorcyclist is at fault in this one, i'll pray God gives him another chance to walk again.
