Trick-or-Treating

It looks like rain on Thursday night, but this is my first year taking my son trick-or-treating, and I haven't gone myself in YEARS. Needless to say, I'm out of the game, so can anyone tell me if there is a specific time when people generally begin going around, or if it's raining, should I just haul my kid and I over to Fair Oaks Mall for some indoor trick-or-treating? The mall idea is a last resort for me, it's just not the same as knocking on doors, seeing all the fun decorations, and all of the other kids in their costumes. Anyway, any information you can give about Halloween etiquette in Burke would be great. Thanks!

Don't live in Burke, but parents and kids in my area generally start around sundown and typically no later than 8 pm to finish. Take an umbrella, be safe, and have fun!
