Police in Cherry Run

Does anyone know what was up with the big police presence in the Cherry Run neighborhood of Burke yesterday? The helicopter circled for a good hour, cruisers were on every corner, at least two k-9 units working through wooded areas for several hours. I asked one of the officers and they were not forthcoming in the least, just told me to stay inside... which pissed me off. So I went home, locked the doors, made sure the .45 was readily accessible (on my hip), and cracked a beer.

I called the West Springfield station. They said there was a warrant out for somebody and he was spotted in the neighborhood. They ultimately caught him.

Caught the warrant service target, eh?
Let's play a game called: What happens IF!

1. IF dispatch lied: you believe all is right with the world and they look competent, despite spending HUGE amounts of money in officer time, dogs, helicopters, and generally making your life difficult/scary for a while. You keep working, paying absurd taxes, approving bonds for their toys, etc. They cannot receive any legal sanction as it's not illegal for the police to lie members of the public.
2. IF dispatch told the truth: That means the police spent way too much to capture someone who's probably worth way too little. Something tells me dispatch wouldn't divulge the ghastly crime this scofflaw committed.
