Cops all Over Westspringfield?!

What is going on here? Cops made a perimeter that is set up from West Springfield HS to Hillside with a copter in the air circling?

Looks like something violent?

When did this all start?

I heard what sounded like fireworks near 10ish, but could as easily been two gunshots.

I drove home around 10:45 and the copter was already making rounds. So that sound you heard might have been the shots.

I don't think they would have had 5 cop cars and a copter out for some fireworks...

Fire and ambulance crews were all over Hillside and Sheridan Arms before 8am. No cops, no copter. Don't know if something escalated, but the original broohah didn't seem to involve the police (just fire and rescue from two or three stations and multiple stretchers).
We wondered if it was gas/carbon monoxide related (no flames or police to indicate fire or violence). Maybe the "shots" were really also gas related - pure speculation.
