Malicious machete vandelism and fire setting around Hunter Village Drive/Jansen and Harwood Drive

We were taking a walk with our dog on the CCT that picks up at Hunter Village Drive today and came across this person who was maliciously hacking at small trees trail side with a two foot long machete. We walk this stretch of the CCT pretty regularly and have noticed quite a bit of vandalism to the trees as well as evidence of fires being set in the same immediate area. I took a picture of this young man and we called the police.

We get that small kids and preteens like to burn off steam in the woods but this has been going on for about a year now and seems to be escalating. This guy was between 17 to 20 years old, about 6 feet tall, 170 pounds, pale skinned with black hair. Looked well kept so I don't think he is homeless or a meth head.

Thanks for making the effort to report this incident - very disturbing behavior. Hope someone can identify this guy to allow a Fairfax detective the opportunity to chat.
